Why I'm Running
Fair Funding. Real Advocacy. Results That Matter.
West Boylston has been carrying a state burden for decades, and Beacon Hill has ignored it.
Worcester neighborhoods have been under served, and Beacon Hill has under funded them.
West Boylston and Worcester do more than their share for the Commonwealth, and for years we have been told to accept less in return.
As a Select Board member, I saw firsthand how state funding decisions affect our schools' roads, public safety and essential services. I also saw something else that matters just as much state funding does not happen automatically. Communities that receive fair treatment are the ones with strong, consistent advocacy at Beacon Hill. Communities without it fall behind.
I’ve Seen the Problem Up Close
West Boylston carries a unique burden.
More than 55 percent of our land is owned by the Commonwealth through the Department of Conservation and Recreation. We host the Wachusett Reservoir which supplies drinking water to Greater Boston. These responsibilities limit our tax base while still requiring full municipal services.
Worcester faces different challenges of aging infrastructure. Growing school needs public safety demands and housing pressures, but the underlying problem is the same insufficient state investment compared to the scale of responsibility.
Time and again, local leaders raised these concerns. Too often the response was that our communities were getting enough.
We were not.
Local Leadership Can Only Go So Far
As a Select Board member, I worked to make responsible decisions and deliver results locally including a new Police Station and a modern Senior Center. But local officials can only do so much.
When it comes to local aid school funding road and infrastructure dollars for public safety facilities and targeted state investments, the real decisions are made at the State House early in the budget process long before final votes are taken.
That is where advocacy matters most.
Why I’m Running for State Representative
I am running because Worcester and West Boylston need a State Representative who treats advocacy as a responsibility, not a formality.
Strong representation means showing up early in the budget process fighting every year for fair funding, understanding local needs in detail following through until projects are completed and being present accessible and accountable to residents.
I have spent years listening to residents working with local boards and navigating complex public decisions. I know how the system works and where it fails, communities that do not push hard enough.
This Is About Using the Seat Not Holding It
Representation is not about seniority or party labels.
It is about effort preparation and follow through.
I am running to be an active advocate for Worcester and West Boylston for someone who uses the office every day to make sure our communities receive fair funding real attention and measurable results.
Our towns deserve more than a seat at the table.
They deserve someone who is willing to fight for them.
